| I have a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), majoring in History, from
the University of Melbourne and a Master of Arts in Australian Studies
from Monash University. My M.A. thesis was titled Victorian Cinema
Landscapes. In June of 2000, I completed an RMIT short course,
Screenwriting - Introduction, taught by Dr Lisa Dethridge.
I write both fiction and non-fiction, long and short, as well as
doing some editing. I am available for speaking engagements at schools,
conferences, etc. See the Speaking section
for more information.
I've had 33 books published so far. Several of my books can be
purchased online through the Show
and Tell Promotions Online Bookshop.
Two of my books Life, Death
and Detention and Real Sci-Fi
are on the booklist for the 2008
Victorian Premier's Reading Challenge. This is their third year
on the list.
My latest placements are:
- A book review of Crossing the Line by Dianne Bates,
for Pass It On.
- A book review of The Ice-cream Man by Jenny Mounfield,
for Pass It On.
- Two sections, on Construction and Gadgets, for the upcoming
book 101 Things to do Before You Grow Up.
- A short story, "Future Dreaming", for the Climate
Change Anthology.
In July 2002 I was profiled, along with about 200 other authors
and illustrators, in Paul Collins' Book People: Meet Australia's
Children's Authors and Illustrators (MacMillan Education, 2002).
